We're looking for a dedicated, organized, and relationship-focused professional to join our team as an Admissions Counselor. In this role, you'll guide prospective students through the admissions process, build strong community partnerships, and play a key role in supporting student success from the very beginning of their Job Corps journey.
If you thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment where your work makes a meaningful impact, we'd love to hear from you.
QualificationsRequired:
- Associate of Arts degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of three (3) years of auditing and/or administrative support experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and strong computer literacy.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- May supervise assigned Work-Based Learning (WBL) students.
- Conduct comprehensive applicant screenings to determine eligibility and suitability for the Job Corps Program.
- Review and evaluate behavioral, medical, and educational records to support enrollment decisions.
- Conduct career assessments and provide counseling throughout the admissions process.
- Make enrollment determinations and, when appropriate, refer applicants to alternative educational resources.
- Partner with Center staff to ensure a seamless enrollment experience and support early student retention.
- Coordinate and facilitate Center tours, pre-arrival visits, and parent meetings.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community agencies, employment services, high schools, trade schools, technical schools, and other organizations.
- Serve as a liaison between the Job Corps Center and community partners to strengthen referral networks.
- Promote the Job Corps Program within the community to attract prospective students.
- Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Share relevant information in a timely manner with the Department of Labor (DOL), Company leadership, and internal stakeholders as requested.
- Analyze challenges, recommend effective solutions, and follow through to ensure successful resolution.
- Collaborate with staff across all departments to provide coordinated support and services for students.
- Apply job knowledge effectively to fulfill all assigned responsibilities.
- Continuously develop the skills necessary to perform assigned duties successfully.
- Accept direction from the Center Director, Center Duty Officer, or Shift Manager, including temporary assignments supporting other departments or positions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
As an Admissions Counselor, you'll be one of the first people prospective students meet on their educational journey. Your ability to build relationships, assess potential, and connect individuals with life-changing opportunities directly contributes to student success and the mission of Job Corps. If you're committed to helping others achieve their goals while working alongside a collaborative and dedicated team, this is an opportunity to make a lasting difference.
