Masters Academy International

Masters Academy International is New England's only school that combines top-tier sports and academics to prepare future leaders who excel in athletics, academics, and life. At Masters Academy International, academics aren't placed between training sessions-they are a vital part of developing an elite performer. We've created a curriculum that respects the demands of our athletes without sacrificing intellectual rigor. Students are challenged through engaging coursework, grounded in inquiry, which encourages healthy disagreement and debate and emphasizes quality over quantity.

MAI's academic program aims to strike a balance between well-being and learning for our student-athletes, helping them develop not only knowledge but also the skills necessary to succeed in a rapidly evolving world. Students are encouraged to take ownership of their education and nurture the critical and creative thinking skills required to understand and solve global challenges. As a result, our students graduate from MAI as critical thinkers, effective communicators, and confident learners prepared to excel in any field.

The

Opportunity

The College Counselor will collaborate with the Director of Student Wellbeing and the Deans team to design and implement programs that support student well-being and effectively guide students through the college application process. The primary goal of the Deans team is to foster a sense of belonging by creating a safe, inclusive, and respectful learning community. The College Counselor regularly meets with students to provide mentorship and strategic coaching and serves as a conduit among students, families, and MAI colleagues.

By being responsive to student needs, this role promotes balance, well-being, and a coordinated network of support.

Reporting to the Director of Student Wellbeing, the College Counselor works in close partnership to align college counseling initiatives with broader student support structures, including Personal Learning Plans and holistic student development frameworks. Along with the Deans team, you will help students realize their postsecondary goals and guide them on the best path toward college admissions and/or career readiness. This role provides resources on college options, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities;

assists families and students in filtering and evaluating the best-fit college choices; and offers guidance as students prepare to transition into their first year of postsecondary education.

What You Will Do

As a College Counselor at Masters Academy International, you will provide vision, leadership, and coordination for all college counseling initiatives, ensuring alignment with student well-being and holistic support frameworks. You will guide students and families through the college search, admissions, and decision-making process, providing one-on-one and group counseling, workshops, and resources on financial aid, scholarships, and career readiness. Partnering closely with the Deans team and the Director of Student Wellbeing, you will develop and implement the college counseling curriculum, foster a culture of belonging and curiosity among students, and build strong relationships with colleges, universities, and community partners.

You will oversee program evaluation, lead continuous improvements, and serve as a liaison among students, families, and faculty to ensure each learner is supported academically, socially, and emotionally throughout the college preparation journey.

Who You Are

You are an experienced college counselor with a proven ability to guide students and families through complex admissions processes and athletic recruitment, including NCAA eligibility requirements. You understand-or are eager to learn-the unique challenges facing student-athletes and can help them balance academics, athletics, and personal growth. You bring ownership, humility, and a collaborative mindset, actively seeking feedback and valuing relationships as the foundation for student success.

You demonstrate courage, sound judgment, adaptability, and a commitment to lifelong learning, approaching new challenges with curiosity and innovation. You use technology thoughtfully to enhance communication, collaboration, and student engagement while fostering an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning community.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range is $85,000-$95,000. Benefits for eligible roles include medical, life insurance, a 401(k) savings plan, and more.
