The Williams College Economics Department invites applications for one open-rank (tenured or tenure-track) position in macroeconomics, to begin July 1, 2027.

We are seeking candidates whose research and teaching interests are concentrated in policy-relevant macroeconomics, including monetary, fiscal, or other forms of stabilization policy in advanced or emerging economies. Candidates are expected to contribute to both our undergraduate program and our Master's in Policy Economics program at the Center for Development Economics.

We are a department of active scholars and currently have 25 tenured or tenure-track faculty members. The teaching load is two courses per semester. We offer extensive support and resources to help one succeed in teaching and research, including the college's first3 as well as programming organized by the teaching-center and the ncfdd-org-home, among other initiatives.

Williams College welcomes candidates who plan to seek research funding as part of their scholarly work. In addition to various internal-funding, the College and its cfr.williams.edu are prepared to support faculty applications to a range of external federal and private funding sources. Qualifications

We seek candidates who can actively enrich the diversity and excellence of the academic community through their scholarship, teaching, and service. Candidates should have a Ph.D., or all requirements for the Ph.D. degree, completed by September 2027.
