Description:

Work with high school children, both in general education classrooms and the special education classroom to support students academically, socially, emotionally, and/or physically. Additional duties as required by the special education department or high school principal.

• Associate's Degree, two years of college or passing the para test.
• Knowledge and understanding of various disabilities.
• Knowledge of school classroom procedure, including preparation and maintenance of records.
• Knowledge of special education procedures.
• Demonstrated aptitude or competence for assigned responsibilities at the High School level.
• Ability to support students academically with high school curriculum.
• Experience working with age-appropriate students in a school setting.
• Support students academically, emotionally, behaviorally, and socially in the school setting
• Assist students with toileting as needed
• Ability to follow directions and implement accommodations and modifications as directed by teachers and related service providers
• Ability to collect data consistently if needed
• Such alternatives to the above qualifications as may be found appropriate and acceptable by the principal, special education coordinator, and Director of Student Services.
