Starting Date: Immediately

• Help students complete classroom assignments and homework.
• Assist the teacher with the implementation of lesson plans and individualized student supports.
• Help create and maintain a calm, structured, safe, and respectful classroom environment.
• Manage student behaviors by teaching and reinforcing appropriate problem-solving, coping, communication, and self-regulation skills.
• Provide support and de-escalation strategies to students experiencing behavioral or emotional challenges.
• Assist students in developing positive relationships with peers and adults.
• Support the implementation of individualized behavior plans, accommodations, and interventions.
• Help students successfully transition between classes, activities, and other school settings.
• Monitor and reinforce positive student behavior using consistent expectations and strategies.
• Assist students in participating successfully in community-based learning, volunteer opportunities, and work-study experiences.
• Regularly communicate with the teacher and other school staff regarding students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral progress.
• Maintain appropriate documentation related to student behavior, progress, and participation as directed by the program teacher or administration.
• Support students in developing independence, responsibility, and the skills necessary for success in school and beyond.
• Must be willing to secure and sustain a 7D driver's license to assist in transporting students to volunteer and work-study sites.
• Salary range: $18.24 - $29.18 per hour depending on experience
