Overview
We are looking for a Wind Major Component Exchange Operator to join our Operations & Maintenance Wind team. If you want to shape the future of energy, we need someone who can coordinate and safely execute major correctives across the Enel Green Power Wind Fleet utilizing Enel owned Liftra LT1200 and LT1000 self‑hoisting cranes.
Who you will work withYou will be part of the Operations & Maintenance Wind team responsible for coordinating and safely executing major correctives across the Enel Green Power Wind Fleet using internal tools, manpower and third‑party vendors.
Responsibilities- Maintain all necessary trainings and qualifications to be a certified operator of the assigned Liftra self‑hoisting crane and to safely perform related tasks.
- Safely execute major component replacements and repairs using a self‑hoisting Liftra crane (when required).
- Serve as an operator for major component replacements completed with internal or external self‑hoisting crane resources.
- Act as a certified NCCCO signal caller when completing conventional crane major corrective replacements.
- Obtain or maintain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) to transport the Liftra self‑hoisting crane between job sites.
- Complete Lock‑Out‑Tag‑Out (LOTO), JSA’s and job‑specific documentation required for safe maintenance and repairs.
- Collect data and prepare reports for daily, weekly and monthly reporting requirements.
- Maintain tools and equipment, keep inspection records, and ensure proper maintenance of equipment.
- Proactively identify improvement opportunities for processes and procedures.
- Act as a safety role model, encourage safe acts, intervene when unsafe acts occur, and identify gaps in safety standards.
- Coordinate third‑party vendors to ensure all safety requirements are met and work is executed at the highest level of safety.
- 3+ years of relevant work experience in wind energy or a B.S. Degree (electrical or technical) and at least 1 year of related experience.
- Experience with self‑hoisting crane systems, preferably Liftra LT1200 or LT1000.
- Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or ability to obtain one within 12 months of hire.
- Strong attention to detail and proficiency with electrical test equipment (DMM, meggers, calibration equipment).
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory and troubleshooting techniques.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, facility management and reporting systems, and computerized diagnostic tools.
- Familiarity with maintenance and electronic testing equipment and heavy equipment required for facility maintenance.
- Experience with wind farm operations and maintenance, both Service & MCE.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
- Ability to work around low‑ and medium‑voltage equipment.
- Willingness to travel 85% of the time to operational sites within the U.S. (and possibly Canada). Ability to respond to site emergencies 24/7.
- Ability to work weekends, holidays, and overtime.
- Physical ability to climb turbine towers 100+ meters approximately 5–20 times per week and work at heights of 300 feet or more, including lifting 50 lbs continuously and wearing PPE.
- Ready to pass a physical fitness and climb test upon hiring.
The pay range for this position is $30.40 to $45.60 per hour. Base pay will be based on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, education and internal equity.
