Location: Sterling

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced HVAC Estimator in the Sterling, MA area to prepare accurate cost estimates for commercial and/or residential HVAC projects and handling duct work and pipe fitting – refrigeration, chilled/hot water, and boiler pipe. The HVAC Estimator will analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to determine labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs. This role works closely with project managers, engineers, vendors, and sales teams to ensure competitive, profitable, and timely bids.

The ideal candidate has strong technical HVAC knowledge, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project drawings, specifications, and bid documents
  • Perform detailed takeoffs for HVAC systems (equipment, ductwork, piping, controls, etc.)
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors
  • Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing
  • Identify potential risks, value‑engineering opportunities, and cost savings
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and sales teams during the bidding process
  • Maintain historical cost data and estimating databases
  • Assist with bid presentations and clarifications as needed
Requirements & Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience as an HVAC Estimator or similar estimating role
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems, codes, and construction methods
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and specifications
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as FastPIPE/FastDUCT
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage multiple bids and meet deadlines
