We are seeking an experienced and detail‑oriented Electrical Design Engineer to join our team in Hopedale, MA. This is a fully on‑site role with a strong emphasis on hands‑on electrical design, ideal for someone who enjoys owning projects from initial concept through final documentation.
Key Responsibilities- Design electrical systems and layouts using AutoCAD Electrical.
- Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Develop electrical designs from scratch, managing the full lifecycle from concept to final documentation.
- Select and specify electrical components such as circuit breakers, relays, contractors, motor starters, and power supplies.
- Design control panels and electrical enclosures, ensuring proper integration with field devices.
- Produce and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and supporting technical documentation.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to ensure design accuracy and alignment with project requirements.
- Ensure all designs comply with industry standards, electrical codes, and client specifications.
- Provide technical support during the design phase and assist with drawing and documentation updates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design engineering, preferably within industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Strong proficiency with AutoCAD Electrical and related design tools.
- Solid understanding of electrical schematics, panel layouts, and power distribution systems.
- Familiarity with NFPA 70 (NEC), UL508A, and applicable electrical standards.
- Experience creating BOMs, wiring documentation, and design packages.
- Ability to work independently and manage electrical design tasks from start to finish.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Experience specifying electrical components and control hardware.
- Knowledge of electrical safety standards and best practices.
- Experience with power distribution, load calculations, and equipment sizing.
- Ability to interpret and produce clear, well‑structured technical drawings and documentation.
