About the RoleOur client is seeking a Process Engineer to lead manufacturing development initiatives for aerospace components. You will drive process modeling, documentation, and production planning to enable multi-part production and lights-out machining operations. This role collaborates with programming, operations, and quality teams to develop innovative, efficient, and compliant manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities New Product Introduction- Develop manufacturing processes for new aerospace components aligned with best practices
- Create fixturing methodologies and CAM programming approaches for new products
- Review purchase orders to ensure programming and production lead times meet delivery commitments
- Validate process feasibility and production durations to meet quoted hours
- Ensure seamless integration of new product processes with existing manufacturing capabilities
- Design part and fixture models, assembly drawings, and 3D visualization models using Solid Works and CAD/CAM software
- Develop standardized toolpath strategies and CAM programming templates
- Create detailed setup drawings, work holding documentation, and manufacturing process sheets
- Establish CAD standards and design guidelines to maintain manufacturing consistency
- Develop family-of-parts grouping strategies and production batching methodologies
- Design tombstone strategies for lights-out machining and unmanned operations
- Create comprehensive setup sheets and operator work instructions with process monitoring protocols
- Enable efficient multi-fixture production for small- to midsize parts
- Provide technical support for implementation of new processes
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues and recommend process improvements
- Collaborate with programming and operations teams to refine processes
- Standardize tooling packages and best practices
- Maintain compliance withISO
9001/AS9100quality standards - Complete all required training and certification programs
- Maintain detailed technical documentation and change control
- Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering preferred
- 3+ years in process engineering or manufacturing development
- Proven experience creating comprehensive technical documentation
- Advanced proficiency in Solid Works and CAD/CAM software
- Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing standards, GD&T, and traceability requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent project management and organizational abilities
- Effective communication for presenting technical concepts
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Creative thinking to develop innovative manufacturing solutions
- Systematic approach to documentation and change control
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
