Senior Principal Engineer as the Ghost Eye Program Lead
The Radar Mechanical Design Department is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer as the Ghost Eye Program Lead. Ghost Eye is a multi-mission medium range sensor providing 360 deg surveillance in the LTAMDS Raytheon Technologies franchise. In this role, you will lead the Ghost Eye Program, reporting directly to the LTAMDS IPT Lead. You will be responsible for overseeing program execution across multiple products, ensuring alignment with challenging schedules while effectively planning, managing, and tracking cost and schedule performance.
This onsite role will be based in Marlborough, MA or Tewksbury, MA.
What You Will Do- The Ghost Eye Program Lead oversee the scope, budget, and schedule for the overall development of the system. This includes integrating the sub-products into a complete Radar Set product.
- Experience in leading a cross functional team including members from Engineering, Operations, Integrated Supply Chain, and Quality through hardware development and production.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing EVMS and Risk & Opportunity Management.
- Experience in program planning, budgeting, and tracking to cost and schedule. The role requires close management of design completion while simultaneously balancing resulting performance with the ability to meet the customers critical schedule requirements.
- Regular review of program status including tracking and review by both Engineering Leadership and Program Leadership.
- Extensive knowledge of hardware engineering capabilities to ensure successful technical execution. Ability to partner with the chief engineers, technical leads, Operations leads, Supply Chain and Quality is required.
- Extensive knowledge of transition to production and the ability to lead a design release into production is required.
- The position requires frequent interaction with all levels of Raytheon Management, internal and external customers.
- Ensure balance with risk conditions and constraints while advising leadership.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 7 years' experience.
- A minimum of eight (8) years of experience in mechanical design.
- Experience leading and participating in design, development and production activities.
- Experience preparing both technical and cost proposals.
- Experience with earned value management and other program management skills.
- Experience presenting challenging technical issues to senior leadership.
- Direct experience with military radar, program and products, ideally in the LTAMDS franchise.
- Raytheon Technologies process improvement ie CORE/ Six Sigma Certification.
- Collaborate in teams or independently, flexible, demonstrates initiative.
- Experience in driving Cost Reduction Initiatives and partnering with Suppliers in reducing costs and or driving quick closure to issues.

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
