Senior Project Engineer Activities
The Senior Project Engineer will engage in complex customer interactions both internally and externally. They will be responsible for written and verbal communication both internally and externally. The role involves creating, completing, and managing New Product Development project schedules (Gantt charts), resource and milestone planning, and supporting Senior Director, Chief Engineer, and Program Managers in tracking budgets and forecasts to complete projects on time and on budget.
The Senior Project Engineer will also coordinate and process Engineering Change Request and Notice (ECR/ECN), manage risk, and handle multiple projects concurrently. They will serve as the principal contact for design engineering in internal cross-functional meetings and communicate with external customers to ensure technical order changes are controlled, test and quality standards are met, and contract specifications are reviewed. The Senior Project Engineer will support updates to department metrics, assist in the development of project engineering and management processes, and have experience in project engineering in a manufacturing environment with a moderate understanding of manufacturing processes, design engineering best practices, logistics, and leadership skills.
They may also provide technical guidance for the preparations of technical proposals. The Senior Project Engineer can be a technical leader on a New Development Project, working with design engineers and coordinating with the Senior Director of Engineering.

Candidate RequirementsThe candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a self-starter, organized, thorough, and meticulous, and able to work under pressure to ensure quality and delivery. They should be skilled at project engineering with interpersonal skills, have significant knowledge and understanding of standard manufacturing concepts, practices, and procedures, and be resourceful and well organized. The candidate should be able to lead a New Product Development project and effectively work in a cross-functional team, have technical writing skills, and be dedicated to a high degree of accuracy.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, Access) is required, and previous experience with Integrated Project Teams is a plus. Valve design familiarity is a plus, but manufacturing environment experience is required.
A Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering, with at least five years' relevant experience is required. Valve, regulator, fluid mechanics/control related coursework/education will be an additional qualification, and work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. PMP Certification is a plus, but not required, and a working knowledge of PMBOK is at minimum required.
