Building Envelope Technologies (BET) is a well-established consulting architectural engineering firm specializing in building enclosure consulting, forensic investigations, testing, design, and rehabilitation of building enclosure systems. Our work spans both existing buildings and new construction projects across a wide range of commercial, institutional, educational, healthcare, multi-family, and municipal facilities. Our multidisciplinary team provides innovative solutions that improve building performance, durability, and long-term resilience.
We are seeking an experienced Architect with a strong technical background in building enclosure consulting, building science, design and commissioning, and exterior building systems. BET offers the opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects involving building enclosure consulting, forensic investigations, new construction consulting, restoration, testing, and construction administration.
Position ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of architectural and project management tasks, including:
- Perform building condition assessments, façade investigations, and comprehensive building enclosure evaluations.
- Conduct field investigations, surveys, inspections, testing, and forensic evaluations of existing buildings and new construction.
- Evaluate building enclosure systems, including roofing, waterproofing, façades, windows, curtain walls, masonry, and air/water barrier systems.
- Evaluate thermal performance per energy code requirements
- Prepare technical reports documenting observations, findings, analyses, and repair recommendations.
- Develop construction documents, repair details, drawings, and technical specifications for rehabilitation, restoration, and new construction projects.
- Assist with field testing and inspections of building envelope systems.
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, Requests for Information (RFIs), and product substitutions.
- Provide construction administration services including site observations, field reports, progress meetings, submittal reviews, punch lists, and review of completed work.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, contractors, consultants, structural engineers, and internal project teams throughout all phases of design and construction.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, including scheduling, budgeting, resource allocation, and client communications.
- Ensure projects comply with applicable building codes, industry standards, and best practices.
- Participate in forensic investigations, building enclosure consulting, failure analyses, and technical evaluations.
- Assist with proposal preparation, business development efforts, and cultivating long-term client relationships.

- Forensic investigations and building diagnostics
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
- 10+ years of professional architectural experience, preferably in building enclosure consulting, restoration, or technical design.
- Architectural registration (RA) preferred or the ability to obtain licensure.
- Strong knowledge of building enclosure systems, building science principles, exterior wall assemblies, waterproofing, roofing systems, façades, windows, curtain walls, masonry, and applicable building codes.
- Experience preparing technical reports, construction documents, repair details, and technical specifications.
- Technical proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, Microsoft 365, and Adobe Acrobat required;
Revit experience strongly preferred. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites throughout the region.
