This individual will generate new business, deepen existing client relationships, and contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the Bank’s commercial lending division.

EssentialJob Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Originates new commercial lending opportunities primarily focused on investment real estate, through proactive business development, networking and referral source cultivation.
- Identifies client credit needs and recommend appropriate lending products (CRE, construction, etc.).
- Manages an assigned portfolio of commercial relationships, monitoring credit quality and performance indicators.
- Meets or exceeds annual production, revenue, and portfolio growth goals.
- Analyze financial statements, tax returns, global cash flow, collateral, industry trends, and borrower/guarantor creditworthiness.
- Directs the preparation of comprehensive credit memos consistent with Bank standards, including risk rating recommendations and covenant structures.
- Structures loan terms that balance client needs with risk management.
- Works closely with Credit Administration and Loan Operations to ensure complete, accurate, and timely underwriting and documentation.
- Conducts periodic borrower reviews, site visits, and annual credit renewals.
- Proactively identifies deteriorating credits, recommend appropriate action plans, and work with internal stakeholders on remediation.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for borrowing and deposit clients, providing exceptional service and responsive communication.
- Cross-sells treasury management, deposit, and other Bank products to maximize relationship profitability.
- Maintains strong working relationships with internal partners to ensure seamless client experiences.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, accounting, or related field required.
- 7–15 years of commercial lending, credit analysis, or relationship management experience in a financial institution;
Experience with a community bank or regional bank credit culture preferred. - Formal credit training or completion of a commercial credit program preferred.
- Proven ability to source new business and manage a commercial loan portfolio.
- Strong financial statement analysis skills, including cash-flow analysis and collateral evaluation.
- Knowledge of commercial loan structures, credit risk management, and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with SBA, USDA, and other government-guaranteed lending programs preferred.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with loan origination systems, Microsoft Office, and financial analysis tools.
This position is an office-based position in terms of physical demand. Employees are expected to be able to operate their fingers and hands to perform functions such as typing, writing, and filing. Employees must also be able to move throughout the office with ease while also being able to sit for extended periods of time. Employees must be able to see and hear in an office setting that does include much noise going on around one’s workspace.
While this job is mainly clerical, there are instances in which employees must be able to transport up to 20 pounds.
