Summary

The Mortgage Processor plays a critical role in the home loan process by ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with regulatory and internal guidelines. This position supports the mortgage servicing team by preparing loan files for underwriting and closing, maintaining communication with members, and ensuring a smooth and timely loan experience from application to funding.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage daily mortgage pipeline with a focus on timely processing of loan packages, commitments, and adherence to departmental turn-times and communication standards.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of Webster First Federal Credit Union mortgage products and services.
  • Prepare and send compliance-related documents to members, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
  • Provide proactive and ongoing communication with members throughout the loan process, keeping them informed of status updates.
  • Accurately document all member, loan officer, and underwriter correspondence - both written and verbal in the loan file.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of loan data and ensure all system records are current and aligned.
  • Regularly update loan statuses in required systems and reports to ensure transparency and consistency.
  • Adapt effectively to changes in processes, technology, or departmental priorities.
  • Utilize various software tools proficiently, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Promptly elevate member concerns or file issues to the team leader for resolution.
  • Promotes overall BSA compliance by adhering to all BSA and OFAC regulations specific to the job function and assisting the Credit Union’s BSA department as necessary with any departmental function specific items.
  • Actively promotes the security and privacy of member and employee information through adherence to both information security and physical security policies, procedures, and governing regulations. Training will be completed at least annually for Information Security topics, BSA, and GLBA; annual BSA training will be position specific. Annual training will also include courses on any of the following regulations as they relate to the position described herein: SAFE ACT, Regulations B, C, D, E CC, DD, and Z as well as any training deemed necessary to promote adherence to applicable regulatory requirements.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with loan origination systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of mortgage lending regulations and documentation requirements.
  • Commitment to providing outstanding member service.
  • Maintain working knowledge of applicable federal and state lending regulations, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), and other relevant compliance requirements.
