The Edgartown Police Department is currently accepting applications for the following position:

MPTC full-time Police Academy and POST Certified officers preferred. Applicant must be a U.S Citizen, at least 21 years of age, have a high school diploma or equivalent, and possess a valid MA driver's license, as well as a valid LTC or ability to obtain one. Applicant must be able to perform the duties and responsibilities of a Police Officer. Successful applicant will be required to pass a medical and psychological examination, fitness test, and an extensive background investigation.

Full-time Police Officer starting salary is $ (8-step annual increase pay scale).

Qualified lateral transfer candidates are encouraged to apply and may be eligible for placement at a step equal to their current salary or on a higher step on the salary scale based on experience and qualifications.

New Hire benefits also include a $5,000 sign-on incentive.

• The first installment of $2,500 will be paid as a one-time lump sum on the employee's second paycheck.
• The remaining $2,500 will be paid as a one-time lump sum upon the successful completion of the employee's one-year probationary period.
