Job Description:
Part‑time Faculty positions in our Exercise Science program. Our curriculum prepares students for careers in strength and conditioning, clinical exercise physiology, rehabilitation sciences, fitness and wellness, and graduate study in allied health professions.
Part‑time Faculty are responsible for planning and presenting course material for assigned lecture, laboratory, and applied experiential courses; defining specific course requirements and communicating them clearly to students; evaluating student performance on examinations, projects, laboratory competencies, and practical assessments; submitting grades in a timely manner; and providing students with clear feedback regarding their progress. Faculty are expected to interact electronically with students outside the classroom to support professional development.
Courses available may include, but are not limited to:
Kinesiology, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Strength & Conditioning, Exercise Testing & Programming, Clinical Exercise Physiology, Nutrition for Health and Fitness, Performance Nutrition, Research Methods in Exercise Science, Prevention and Care of Sports Injuries.
Minimum of a Master’s degree in a field related to Exercise Science (e.g., Nutrition, Exercise Physiology, Physical Therapy, Strength and Conditioning, Human Performance, Biomechanics, Kinesiology).
Relevant professional experience in fitness, performance, clinical, research or rehabilitation settings. Current nationally recognized professional certification or licensure appropriate to the professional area is preferred.
Teaching experience is preferred, but not required. In certain cases, candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and substantial professional experience may be considered.
$3,735 per 3‑credit course.
Eligibility for promotion to Lecturer and increased rate of compensation are negotiated between the College and the AAUP.
