Overview
Provides care to assigned residents in a caring, safe, and efficient manner, performing duties in accordance with location standards and individualized resident care plans. The role includes training to obtain certification for higher‑level resident care when required.
Responsibilities- Helps residents with outerwear or shoes as needed.
- Assures residents' spiritual needs are met by willing employees (self or others).
- Assists residents by passing snacks and trays, pouring beverages as needed, and maintaining a pleasant dining atmosphere.
- Assists residents in maintaining a proper and clean appearance.
- Safeguards residents' property.
- Keeps residents' living areas pleasant and orderly.
- Provides residents with opportunities for independence and choice consistent with their care plans.
- Maintains residents' self‑esteem, privacy, and confidentiality of personal information.
- Documents care provided to residents.
- Receives and shares information; observes and reports residents' conditions to appropriate staff.
- Works with team members and other staff members in a helpful, respectful, and courteous manner.
- Assists residents in meeting their social needs through interaction with staff, family, and other residents.
- Responds appropriately to resident requests for help and maintains positive relationships with residents' friends and family members.
- Responds promptly to residents' call lights.
- Seeks clarification of assignments and asks questions when needed.
- Expresses ideas clearly, concisely, and effectively both orally and in writing.
- Requests ongoing feedback on task performance.
- Completes documentation as assigned.
- Listens effectively, shares work‑related information with appropriate staff members.
- Keeps supervisor informed.
- Maintains safe work practices and follows center/campus safety procedures.
- Follows center/campus infection control procedures.
High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
If working at a facility in which a lift is utilized to move residents, the applicant must meet the minimum state age requirement.
