Role Description

This is an on-site role located in Halifax, MA, combining the responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and Adult Companion (AC). This position offers the opportunity to build a full-time caseload. In this role, you will provide one-on-one support to individuals in both home and community settings, assisting with daily living activities, fostering independence, and encouraging meaningful community engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized, one-on-one support in home and community settings.
  • Assist individuals with daily living activities, including errands, appointments, and community outings.
  • Provide reliable transportation to support access to services, social activities, and essential appointments.
  • Support individuals in building life skills, confidence, and independence.
  • Assist with budgeting, household management, and accessing community resources such as housing and government assistance programs.
  • Encourage participation in social and recreational activities to promote community integration and connection.
  • Offer compassionate companionship, active listening, and emotional support.
  • Collaborate with individuals to implement personalized support strategies aligned with their goals and interests.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including daily progress notes.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) WITH at least 2 years of relevant community-based experience.
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable, well-maintained personal vehicle that is suitable for transporting individuals.
  • Interpersonal Skills and Communication abilities.
  • Must be willing to undergo a background check, provide a driving record, complete a health screening, and submit any required onboarding documentation.
  • CPR/First Aid certification is required but may be acquired during onboarding process.
  • Must have availability during Monday-Friday stand business hours. No overnight shifts available.
