Job Description

The Pioneer Valley Regional School District seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist at the elementary level.

The Speech-Language Pathologist works as a member of the Student Services team and provides both direct and consultative services for children with communication and other disabilities.

The Speech-Language Pathologist collaborates with teachers, special educators, other school personnel, and families to develop and implement individual or group programs, and support classroom activities. The Speech-Language Pathologist provides services within the general education classroom, on a pull‑out basis, and within the context of a specialized program. In addition to providing direct services, the Speech‑Language Pathologist is responsible for the testing and evaluation of students, including initial evaluations and reevaluations.

The student population is varied, with disabilities including specific learning disabilities, ASD, ADHD, social-emotional, etc.

The successful candidate must:

  • have demonstrated success with a variety of interventions for a range of disabilities;
  • have experience with social skills and pragmatic language development;
  • have experience with the administration and interpretation of a wide range of assessments and evaluation tools;
  • be eager to co-treat and co-teach with colleagues; and,
  • have experience with AAC and assistive technologies.
Job Requirements
  • Qualifications:

    MA licensure as a Specialist Teacher, Speech/Language/Hearing Disorder
  • At least 3 year(s) of relevant experience preferred.
  • Advanced Studies degree preferred.
  • Citizenship, residency or work visa required
