This position is a full-time, benefited position and is located at our Wells Ave branch.
Under the direction of the Director of Health and Wellness, the Personal Trainer/Health and Wellness Coordinator contributes to the successful operation of the West Suburban YMCA’s Health and Wellness programs including program development, program staff orientation, community relations and financial results. This position will assist in supporting, mentoring and orienting personal trainers to embrace the YMCA culture and spirit, focusing on building relationship skills and superb customer service.

- Associates’ degree in human services, social services, recreation, business or equivalent preferred.
- A national recognized Personal Training Certification.
- Two years’ experience in personal training.
- Ability to prioritize workload in accordance with department, branch and organizational goals.
- Committing to support and further our equity-centered work as an organization. Actively supports all DEIB efforts.
- Integrate and lead groups of diverse individuals and departments in collaborative activities aimed at advancing wellness throughout the association.
- Strong relationship building skills to develop solid relationships leading up, across and down in the organization.
- Reliable, dependable, great time-management skills and ability to multi-task.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
- Understanding of the nature and purpose of YMCA and the respective roles of volunteerism and staff.
- CPR and First Aid certifications required.
- Other certifications necessary for related field.
