Location: Chatham

Position

Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, Chatham Bars Inn, Chatham, Massachusetts.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all dining outlets and banquets, managing staff training and service.
  • Maintain high standards of quality for guest and employee satisfaction, meeting Forbes Five-Star Standards, Preferred Legend, and AAA objectives.
  • Conduct staff training in behavioral training, steps of service, and company-wide knowledge.
  • Hire, coach, counsel, discipline, conduct performance reviews, and terminate staff as needed.
  • Supervise staff during operations, maintain presence in dining rooms, and handle guest complaints.
  • Contribute to achieving F&B revenue goals, working closely with the Director to increase guest count and total revenue while maintaining service quality.
  • Review staffing needs daily and weekly to manage labor cost efficiently.
  • Ensure accountability for operating systems (requisitions, weekly and daily inventory) and accounting functions (guest checks, comp, void, event check posting).
  • Prepare weekly scheduling for all F&B outlets.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years supervisory/management experience.
  • Minimum 2 years dining room management experience.
  • Experience in a 4 or 5 Star/Diamond property strongly preferred.
  • College education or equivalent; hotel or restaurant management degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated training experience.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, multi‑task, with strong attention to detail and organization.
  • Basic computer skills, proficient with Excel, Outlook, Micros, Open Table, and Delphi preferred.
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication skills.
  • Enjoy fast‑paced work environment; able to work weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Current TIPS Alcohol Certification or comparable alcohol service certification required.
