The Payroll & HR Generalist is responsible for managing payroll processing while supporting core human resources functions, including employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, recruiting support, and HR operations. This role ensures accurate and timely payroll, maintains compliance with federal and state regulations, and supports a positive employee experience.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to balance payroll accuracy with broader HR responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:Payroll Administration 15%
- Assist payroll team in processing weekly payroll accurately and on time.
- Maintain payroll records, earnings, deductions, and tax filings.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
- Administer timekeeping systems and audit timesheets for accuracy.
- Coordinate payroll changes including new hires, terminations, bonuses, and benefits deductions.
- Manage year-end payroll processes including W-2 preparation and reporting.
- Serve as co-primary contact for payroll-related inquiries.
- Support full employee lifecycle processes including recruiting, onboarding, development, retention, and offboarding utilizing ADP.
- Assist with full-cycle recruiting including job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination, and offer support to TA Specialist
- Facilitate new hire onboarding and orientation, including onboarding for newly acquired employees during acquisitions and integration initiatives.
- Partner with leadership to support HR integration activities related to company acquisitions, ensuring a smooth transition and positive employee experience.
- Provide day-to-day HR operational support, responding to employee inquiries and supporting managers with HR-related needs.
- Maintain accurate employee personnel files and HRIS records, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Administer benefits enrollment, changes, open enrollment processes, and employee communications.
- Support employee relations matters, performance management processes, and corrective action documentation.
- Assist with policy implementation, updates, and handbook compliance.
- Monitor and track required training, certifications, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate offboarding processes, exit interviews, and separation documentation.
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and company policies.
- Assist with audits, workers’ compensation claims, and unemployment claims.
- Prepare HR and payroll reports for leadership as needed.
- 3+ years of payroll processing experience
- 3+ years of general HR experience
- Hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and optimizing ADP modules
- Strong knowledge of federal and state employment laws
- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field
- Experience in multi-state payroll processing
