C2 Systems Platform and Infrastructure Engineer
As an experienced cloud computing infrastructure architect, you’ll guide and lead a team of professionals in modernizing C2 systems, ensuring warfighters remain safe and secure. Your mission is to leverage cloud platforms, Dev Ops tools, and containerized foundations to transform legacy IT infrastructures into resilient, secure solutions.
You will design, deploy, and harden containerized infrastructure across enterprise data centers, tactical edge, and cloud environments. Collaboration with fellow architects and engineers specializing in Git Lab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD or Flux is critical, as is proficiency with Kubernetes to deliver scalable, secure platform solutions. Your leadership will drive technical excellence, while you explore innovative solutions and partner with stakeholders to deliver the right platform services.
KeyQualifications
- Experience operating Kubernetes at production scale, including cluster deployment, day‑2 operations, upgrades, and security hardening.
- Experience with CI/CD and Git Ops pipelines using Git Lab CI, Jenkins, ArgoCD or Flux.
- Experience with Infrastructure‑as‑Code and configuration management using Terraform and Ansible.
- Experience implementing and operating an observability stack such as Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK or Open Telemetry.
- Experience designing and deploying systems in secure, air‑gapped, or DDIL environments.
- Ability to translate mission and reliability requirements into resilient, automated platform designs.
- Ability to obtain a Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in CS or Engineering and 8+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering, including technical leadership, or 12+ years in lieu of a degree.
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II Security+ CE Certification.
- Experience with service mesh technologies like Istio, Linkerd, or Consul.
- Experience deploying and sustaining containerized platforms in DoD environments such as Platform One, Big Bang, or Iron Bank.
- Experience engineering for the tactical edge and hardening deployments for DDIL and disconnected operations.
- Experience with C2, ISR, or other mission‑critical DoD systems and their operational constraints.
- Experience implementing Dev Sec Ops practices, including container scanning, STIG compliance, and policy enforcement (OPA, Gatekeeper, Kyverno).
- Experience with secrets management and Zero Trust patterns such as Hashi Corp Vault, SPIFFE, or SPIRE.
- Experience achieving and maintaining an Authority to Operate, continuous ATO, or RMF accreditation.
- Secret clearance.
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Certification.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or similar Cloud Certification.

CompensationThe projected compensation range for this position is $ to $ (annualized USD). This range symbolizes typical salary for the role; total compensation includes benefits and other incentives.
