Commercial Insurance Account Manager
We are looking for a Commercial Insurance Account Manager to support commercial clients with responsive service, sound coverage guidance, and strong market relationships. This position is suited to an insurance specialist who can balance client advocacy, policy accuracy, and growth-focused account management in a collaborative agency setting. The role offers the opportunity to work across renewals, claims support, carrier coordination, and account development while helping businesses make informed risk decisions.
Responsibilities:
- Guide commercial clients through new and renewal policies by reviewing coverage details, explaining available options, and helping them make informed insurance decisions.
- Provide day-to-day account service by handling endorsements, policy updates, binders, certificates of insurance, and other coverage-related documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
- Support clients during the claims process by recording first notices of loss, outlining next steps, and serving as a reliable point of contact throughout claim activity.
- Develop productive relationships with carriers and underwriting partners to place business effectively and align submissions with market guidelines and appetite.
- Prepare applications, supplemental forms, and supporting materials needed to secure quotations, bind coverage, and issue policies.
- Assist with renewal planning by analyzing exposures, comparing terms, identifying changes in limits or pricing, and presenting suitable options to clients.
- Seek opportunities to strengthen accounts through cross-selling, account rounding, and tailored insurance program recommendations based on client operations and risk profiles.
- Manage surplus lines activity, including documentation, invoicing, affidavits, and compliance-related tasks, while maintaining complete and organized account records.
- Coordinate premium payment arrangements and financing options as needed, and contribute to broader agency initiatives or special projects that support business growth.
- Monitor industry developments, carrier offerings, and coverage trends to provide informed recommendations and maintain a high standard of client service.
