Description
IAA, an RB Global, Inc. company, is seeking a Yard Attendant to join our team. Yard Attendants enjoy working in the elements, are detail‑oriented, quick on their feet, and often have a passion for cars. They focus on safety while ensuring a quick and smooth operation.
As the frontline of IAA, this critical role provides opportunities to learn new technologies and stay at the forefront of the auction industry with all our tools and resources.
Qualifications- High school diploma (or equivalent).
- Physical demands of this role are significant; it is not a desk job.
- Upbeat demeanor to ensure every customer interaction is positive.
- Knowledge of cars or general mechanical knowledge is preferred; teamwork is essential.
- Valid driver’s license and eligibility to operate a motor vehicle as required for job duties.
- Basic automotive repair skills or experience in the rental or construction area are preferred.
- Experience in the equipment rental or construction industry and/or related field is preferred.
- Apply security, maintenance, and safety procedures to protect company and customer assets.
- Use personal protective equipment (e.g., safety gloves, safety glasses).
- Avoid accidents by recognizing potentially unsafe situations and responding appropriately.
- Follow industry‑specific regulations related to handling hazardous materials.
- Constantly lift, carry, push, or pull up to 20 lbs.
- Frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.
- Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull over 100 lbs.
- Constantly reach outward, handle and finger objects, stand, walk, and sit.
- Frequently bend, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, and crawl.
- Work primarily outdoors in all types of weather.
- Remain alert to potential hazards associated with heavy equipment and other vehicles operated in the work area.

- Vehicle check‑in by recording and filing information on vehicles assigned to the facility.
- Detail vehicles thoroughly to improve appearance and enhance value at auction; training provided.
- Operate passenger vehicles safely, moving them around the facility and/or participating in drive‑through auctions.
- Recover keys, license plates, and other items from vehicles at the facility and store them appropriately.
- Assist visitors by providing guidance and directing them to the appropriate person for additional assistance.
- Train and develop on the job in forklift and loader operation.
