This role reports to a site-based Strategic Sourcing & Procurement leader and aligns closely with manufacturing network strategies and initiatives. The position partners with cross-functional stakeholders including Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Material Science, Quality, and Category Management to execute direct material procurement activities.
This is a business-critical role supporting manufacturing continuity, requiring strong prioritization, problem-solving, and communication skills. The candidate is expected to contribute innovative ideas while balancing day-to-day execution with long-term objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with Security, Environmental Health & Safety (EHS), training requirements, and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP).
- Maintain continuity of supply for direct materials used in biologics manufacturing.
- Review open orders and collaborate with suppliers to mitigate supply risks and resolve escalations.
- Partner cross-functionally to assess material requirements, identify alternatives, and reduce risk.
- Lead supplier and part qualification processes.
- Support RFP evaluations and supplier selection.
- Support material standardization initiatives across site and network to drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Create and manage standard costs for new materials in collaboration with Finance.
- Approved Supplier Lists (ASL).
- Purchasing Info Records.
- Source Lists.
- Outline Agreements.
- Lead Times.
- Support purchasing activities including requisitions, purchase orders, and confirmations as needed.
- Manage supplier relationships and contribute to regional/category sourcing strategies.
- Partner with Supplier Quality teams on issues such as complaints, CAPAs, and returns.
- Track and improve KPIs including PPV, RTP, and value beyond savings.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting activities.
- Assist in audit readiness and ensure proper documentation and compliance.
- Bachelor’s Degree.
- 4+ years of experience in:
Procurement, Supply Chain and/or Planning. - Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working cross-functionally.
- Experience supporting Tech Transfers.
- Lean / Six Sigma certification (Yellow, Green, or Black Belt).
- Experience with: SAP Supply Chain / MRP / Inventory modules, ARIBA.
- Experience in regulated industries:
Biopharmaceuticals, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Devices.
