Overview
Part-Time Maintenance Technician supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of the Hatfield Rally House by performing routine facility upkeep, equipment repairs, and preventative maintenance tasks. This position does not involve janitorial or custodial responsibilities—the focus is strictly on technical maintenance, repair, and facility functionality.
ResponsibilitiesFacility & Equipment Maintenance
- Perform minor repairs on sports courts, lighting, nets, doors, and other facility fixtures.
- Assist with basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC upkeep under supervision or in coordination with vendors.
- Monitor and maintain recreational equipment to ensure safe, optimal performance.
Preventative Maintenance
- Conduct regular inspections of building systems, grounds, and equipment.
- Assist in implementing preventative maintenance schedules to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and repairs.
Event & Operational Support
- Prepare facility equipment and systems for special events or programming needs.
- Assist with setup, teardown, and adjustments to equipment layouts when needed.
Safety & Compliance
- Identify and report potential hazards or safety concerns immediately to the Director of Operations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, ADA, and local safety regulations during all maintenance work.
Vendor Coordination
- Support Director of Operations in meeting contractors on-site for specialized repairs or inspections.
- Help track inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.
- Previous maintenance or handyman experience preferred, especially in sports, recreation, or hospitality environments.
- Basic understanding of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical repairs.
- Ability to safely operate tools and equipment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and follow direction.
- Flexible availability, including occasional evenings or weekends for urgent repairs.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working on ladders and in varying indoor/outdoor conditions.
- Part-time, approximately 15–20 hours per week (flexible schedule).
- Hourly wage based on experience.
