The Town of Yarmouth is searching for Building and Grounds Maintenance/Custodian to join their Senior Services team! Works under the direct supervision of the Senior Services Director.

• Prepares and breaks down function rooms and daily lunch spaces by arranging chairs, tables, exercise equipment movable wall, and projection screens.
• Sets up daily programming including tables, chairs, dividers and wall.
• Sets up tables, chairs and umbrellas for outdoor dining events.
• Maintains building interiors by mopping and sweeping hard floors, washing windows, cleaning entry doors, servicing restrooms, and taking trash to the dumpster.
• Monitors and restocks inventory in the supply room including paper products, cleaning materials and coffee provisions.
• Handles cleaning, maintenance and inventory of durable medical equipment inventory.
• Keeps senior center basement clean and organized.
• Maintains the lobby coffee station daily.
• Assesses building maintenance problems and performs minor repairs.
• Reports complex matters to the Senior Services Director.
• Assists with coordinating on site tradespeople for building issues and oversees small repair projects.
• Cleans outdoor walkways, exterior mats and barrels, outdoor grill during warmer months. Keeps walking paths, parking lot and property clear of debris year-round.
• Winterizes the exterior for cold weather by draining hoses and storing exterior furnishings. Sets up exterior furnishings in spring.
• Assists DPW with shoveling and salting walkways during winter weather conditions.
• Assists with monthly food distribution.
• Performs other related job duties as required.

RECOMMENDED

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:


High School diploma or equivalent plus 1 to 3 years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and experience. Must possess or pursue CPR/AED and First Aid certification. Valid MA Class D Driver’s license required.

As a condition of employment CORI/SORI check required.
