Position Summary
- Responsible for executing defined responsibilities & delivering results for complex problems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- The Associate Athletic Director for Business and Finance will lead the Department of Athletics business strategy and operations, providing direction for financial planning, operational effectiveness, and administrative processes across the department. In collaboration with department senior leadership, the Associate AD will support annual planning, guide budget development and monitoring, and provide leadership to help the department meet its operational and financial objectives.

The Associate AD role will serve as an administrator for select varsity sport programs, providing mentorship for coaching staffs and strategizing on program budgets, goal setting, scheduling, and engagement. The Associate AD will devote particular attention to the inclusive nature of the Stonehill community, fostering diversity and equity among the staff and student body. In addition, this role will partner with numerous department leaders campus-wide, with extensive collaboration on an on-going basis with institutional Advancement, Finance, Human Resources, Communications, and Marketing staff members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set strategy and oversee department business operations, including oversight of athletic business staff.
  • Oversight of athletic department purchasing procedures, travel, accounts payable, revenue and expense accounting, contract management, and reporting.
  • Responsible for planning and preparation of annual athletics operating expense budget, in coordination with Budget and Planning and Finance offices.
  • Serve as a liaison between Athletics and college Finance office to ensure compliance with college business policy.
  • Collaborate with athletic department and college finance team to support the successful management of department revenue, scholarship, and expense budgets.
  • Provide regular and on-going tracking and reporting of budget targets.
  • Responsible for preparation of annual EADA and NCAA financial reports, as well as coordinating annual NCAA Agreed Upon Procedures and financial audits.
  • Set strategy and oversee department business planning and operational effectiveness, with a focus on process improvement, resource allocation, and long-range planning.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to support strategic initiatives, administrative coordination, and effective alignment of Athletics operations with institutional priorities.
  • Lead strategic planning initiatives and work collaboratively across the department to improve workflows, support decision-making, and advance key operational priorities.
  • Oversee operational reporting, administrative processes, and systems that support effective day-to-day department management.
  • Collaborate with department staff and campus partners to support efficient operations, strong communication, and a high level of service across Athletics programs and initiatives.
  • Understand, support, and promote the Catholic mission of the College
  • Serve as a critical leader in fostering a campus culture in which differences are embraced and work to advance the College's mission of diversity and inclusion
  • Serve as a sport administrator for a select varsity programs
  • Represent the college during work with the NCAA, Northeast Conference, and other key constituent groups
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor's degree required, and a minimum of five years of experience in collegiate athletics, higher education administration, or a related field. Experience in business operations, strategic planning, hiring and managing staff, managing budgets, and a strong knowledge of NCAA Division I philosophy.
