Assistant Branch Manager (Open) – Assonet, MA – Retail shop

Responsibilities
  • Supports the daily coordination of the store’s operations, including compliance, retail sales, warehousing and distribution.
  • Guides and balances the daily schedule of the branch location.
  • Participates in developing and executing marketing plans to support key market segments in collaboration with Sales and Operations teams and outside vendors.
  • Coordinates sales promotional activities, merchandising, and displays.
  • Collaborates with outside sales to ensure order accuracy and proper scheduling of customer deliveries.
  • Cares for branch inventory, performs daily cycle counts, and maintains showroom and warehouse appearance.
  • Organizes all hard goods receiving and dynamic deployment (hard goods inter‑branch orders) for timely completion.
  • Reviews safety events to recommend improvements and eliminate recurrences.
  • Builds and nurtures customer relationships, providing excellent service.
  • Assists customers with product selection and technical support.
  • Supports accurate order processing and coordinates timely product delivery.
  • Builds alignment and resolves customer concerns while delivering excellent customer care.
  • Maintains store operations and supports merchandising efforts.
  • Partners with the Branch Manager in coaching the team and maintaining a functional, welcoming facility.
Required Qualifications
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in industrial retail, inside sales, customer service, and/or inventory control related roles.
  • Action‑oriented contributor with a background in creating and implementing plans that advance business success.
  • Enjoys working with a wide variety of people with diverse perspectives and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of order entry, data research, and computer skills necessary to support customers and suppliers.
  • Thorough understanding of products, services, and associated technologies, or a curiosity and readiness to learn.
  • Experience guiding a team of six or more associates, with a demonstrated ability to support professional development, including coaching, accountability, and performance reviews.
  • Capability to safely move items up to 75 lbs and occasionally up to 125 lbs with material‑handling equipment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and foster understanding of general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to perform calculations in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages to support informed decision‑making.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree in Business, Management, Accounting, or a related field; or equivalent experience, training, and education.
  • Foundational knowledge of Microsoft/Google Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of SAP considered a valuable addition.
