The Attraction Manager is a member of the facility's management team responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, financial results, safety, and guest experience of the Attractions Department. The primary duty of this position is the management of the department, including directing the work of Attractions Supervisors and Team Members, exercising independent judgment and discretion in operating the business, and making decisions that directly impact operational efficiency, profitability, guest satisfaction, and employee performance.
The Attraction Manager is responsible for developing leaders, maintaining safety and operational standards, managing labor and departmental expenses, and ensuring all attractions operate efficiently while delivering an exceptional guest experience. This position regularly supervises two or more full-time employees (or their equivalent) and participates in employment decisions, including hiring, promotion, discipline, and termination recommendations, which are given substantial weight by senior leadership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Department Leadership- Direct, supervise, and manage the daily operation of the Attractions Department.
- Establish operational priorities and ensure department goals are achieved.
- Exercise independent judgment in resolving operational issues, staffing concerns, guest service matters, and safety issues.
- Develop departmental policies, procedures, and best practices consistent with company standards.
- Monitor department performance and implement operational improvements to increase efficiency and profitability.
- Recruit, interview, select, onboard, train, coach, develop, evaluate, and retain department personnel.
- Direct the work of Attractions Supervisors and Team Members.
- Prepare work schedules based upon business needs, labor budgets, and forecasted volume.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development.
- Administer corrective action, performance improvement plans, and disciplinary measures.
- Make recommendations regarding hiring, promotion, compensation adjustments, transfers, and termination that are given particular weight by executive leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and employment practices.
- Manage departmental labor costs and operating expenses while maintaining service standards.
- Monitor productivity, staffing levels, and operational efficiency.
- Analyze business trends, guest traffic, and financial performance to make informed operational decisions.
- Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets.
- Recommend capital improvements and equipment purchases.
- Maintain inventory controls and oversee departmental supplies and equipment.
- Ensure exceptional guest service standards throughout all attractions.
- Resolve escalated guest concerns and service recovery situations using sound business judgment.
- Monitor guest satisfaction and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote a culture focused on hospitality, professionalism, and operational excellence.
- Ensure all attractions operate in compliance with company policies, manufacturer guidelines, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct regular operational and safety inspections.
- Partner with Maintenance to ensure preventative maintenance programs are completed.
- Lead accident investigations and implement corrective actions when appropriate.
- Ensure all team members receive required operational and safety training.
- Collaborate with Food & Beverage, Events, Maintenance, Facilities, and other departments to maximize operational effectiveness.
- Serve as Manager on Duty as assigned, providing leadership for the entire facility.
- Participate in strategic planning and facility leadership meetings.
