Job Summary:
The Director of Admission is responsible for managing a comprehensive recruitment strategy for first-time and transfer students, both domestically and internationally. The Director is responsible for coordinating the recruitment, outreach, application review, event strategy, undergraduate marketing review and enrollment operations while supervising the undergraduate admission counselors, visit and events, and operations team members. The Director will serve on the Enrollment Management leadership team.
The Director is expected to inspire staff and students and to provide a positive team culture that aids the University in successfully achieving enrollment goals.
Essential Job Functions:
Admission Responsibilities:
Lead all aspects of recruitment, selection and enrollment of new first-year and transfer studentsProvide direct supervision of staff, oversee territory management and activities related to recruitment and outreachCoordinate hiring process, training and professional development of UG admission staffManage the undergraduate admission budget including travel, advertising, publications and recruitment eventsAnalyze recruitment data and continually assess recruitment activitiesAssist in the development and management of the communications and marketing strategy for recruitment and financial aidCollaborate with University employees to continuously innovate admission recruitment strategyManage vendor relationships related to admissions activitiesEvent-related Responsibilities:
Support coordination, planning, and management of all undergraduate admission events, both in-person and virtualAid in the assignment of staffing for campus visit program including daily tours, Saturday/Holiday tours, personalized campus visits, group visits, and virtual visitsContinuously evaluate events and impact, collaborate with University employees and other stakeholders in being creative with admission eventsOperations-related Responsibilities:
Assists in planning overall admission strategy and evaluation of lead/inquiry management plans and internal review processes relative to ability to meet and exceed enrollment goals for undergraduate admissionDirect operations staff in training of department staff in the effective use of SlateCollaborate in building infrastructure as well as system integrations with other campus applicationsDocument, evaluate, and make recommendations for improvements to business processes to improve efficiencies in recruitment, communication, and yieldSatisfy institutional data needs used in integration, queries, planning, analysis and marketingAnalyze data to ensure integrity and accuracySupports technical projects relating to the functionality of the University's CRM software (Slate).Communication-related Responsibilities:
Manage communications and print creation related to campus visits and eventsEstablish cadence of communication campaignsWrite, edit, and review ad hoc email communicationsUpdate visual assets for internal and external useCopy-edit print communication piecesEstablish population lists for print and mail communicationsAd Hoc
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Director of Admission will partially assist in and be responsible for all aspects of the admission and recruitment process including but not limited to:
Counseling prospective students and families throughout the college application and selection processCollaborate with the Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management on Division initiativesAssisting guidance professionals, faculty, alumni/ae, and prospective students and families to better understand the college's mission through personal interviews, group presentations, and extensive follow-up communicationAssisting in recruitment related events both on- and off-campus, while representing the University with the utmost professionalismFlexibility, dedication, initiative, confidentiality, and the ability to learn are expectedComplete routine reports related to recruitment, projections, personal schedule, travel, special programs, and professional developmentWork with current students, staff, faculty, alumni and other stakeholders that support the recruitment of studentsKnowledge of enrollment management best practices, NACAC guiding principles, Family Education Rights and Privacy ActPerform additional duties and assist with special projects as assigned.Tier Structure:
This position is hybrid (Tier
2). This position will work on campus for 3 days per week and work remotely for 2 days per week. During travel seasons, school vacation weeks, event weeks, and special events – this position will be working fully in-person and on campus.
