SIGN-ON BONUS**
The successful candidate will receive a $1,000 sign-on bonus ($500 paid at time of hire and $500 paid at the end of 90 days of employment.
Reporting to the Director of the Deerfield Fund, the Associate Director is a senior member of the Deerfield Fund team and manages the work of the Assistant Director of the Deerfield Fund for Young Alumni. The Associate Director assists the Director with the development of the overall fundraising strategy as well as the planning, implementation and assessment of yearly campaigns and appeals.
The Associate Director leads donor stewardship and manages the 20th and 25th class reunion fundraising and efforts.
- Assist the Director of the Deerfield Fund in developing overall strategy as well as specific annual fundraising campaigns including mail & digital appeals, Day of Giving, phonathons etc.
- Assist the Director in analyzing Deerfield Fund program metrics to determine ROI and guide future planning and allocation of resources
- Take the lead on the development and implementation of a comprehensive donor stewardship program
- Manage overall Deerfield Fund appeals timeline and production schedule; work with Communications Office and outside vendors to ensure Deerfield Fund communications are designed and delivered as required
- Co-manage overall class volunteer program with Director; ensure consistent practices in volunteer recruitment, training and management across classes
- Direct all aspects of Reunion fundraising for the 20th and 25th reunion classes, including: goal setting; recruitment, training and management of alumni volunteers; solicitation of annual, capital and planned gifts; and close collaboration with colleagues in Leadership Gifts
- Collaborate closely with Alumni Relations on 20th and 25th reunion programing
- Manage a portfolio of leadership gift prospects with focus on identifying, cultivating and soliciting individuals for leadership-level donations
- Track and report on leadership-level prospect activity; update contact reports on a timely basis
- Participate in weekend and evening activities on and off campus as needed to advance the goals stated above
- Manage the overall work performance, objectives, and career development of the Assistant Director of the Deerfield Fund for Young Alumni
- Oversee class fundraising and program goal setting for Assistant Director of the Deerfield Fund for Young Alumni
- Provide leadership within the department and assume responsibility for the management of the department in the absence of the Director of the Deerfield Fund
- In collaboration with the Human Resources Department and Director of the Deerfield Fund, support the recruitment, orientation, and training of new Deerfield Fund employees to ensure optimal staffing, according to Academy Best Practices in Hiring

Job Specifications- Bachelor’s degree required
- 5-7 years of experience in Advancement or similar related work experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
- Experience providing leadership, management and mentorship to staff
- Experience in managing volunteers
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A high level of integrity and a strong work ethic
- Skilled with MS Word and Office and familiarity with integrated databases
- Ability and willingness to travel
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion and to serving the needs of a diverse community
- Ability to manage, and sensitivity to, highly confidential information
- Close visual acuity to analyze data and figures and to view a computer terminal
