CNC Mill Programmer (3-, 4-, and 5-Axis)
Locations:
Southampton, MA or Manchester, CT
Our client is seeking an experienced CNC Mill Programmer to support a high-mix job shop specializing in complex aerospace and defense components. You will program and optimize 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC milling operations, develop tooling and process strategies, and collaborate closely with machinists, engineers, and quality teams to deliver precision results.
This is a hands‑on role with cutting‑edge machining technology and complex geometries, including exotic materials like titanium and Inconel. Ideal candidates thrive on problem‑solving, process improvement, and achieving tight‑tolerance excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Program, modify, and optimize CNC milling operations using Mastercam
- Develop setups, tooling strategies, and multi‑axis machining processes
- Simulate and verify programs before production
- Design and implement fixture concepts for complex parts
- Support machinists during setup, first‑piece runs, and troubleshooting
- Ensure programs meet blueprints, GD&T, and customer requirements
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
- 5+ years CNC milling programming experience in a precision environment
- Proficiency in Mastercam for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis milling
- Experience with complex aerospace or defense components
