Position Summary
Accurately and efficiently test and document the performance of electromechanical and hydraulic aircraft components in accordance with approved technical data, customer requirements, and FAA Part 145 repair station procedures. Support maintenance, repair, and overhaul operations within an AS9100 quality environment while ensuring compliance with airworthiness, safety, and regulatory standards. Work with complex mechanical assemblies, hydraulic systems, and precision test equipment in a production and repair environment requiring a strong attention to detail, adherence to process controls, and commitment to quality and turnaround time objectives.
Work will be performed in a manufacturing environment requiring hearing protection and other PPE with exposure to jet oil and lengthy periods of standing. Actively contributes to lean initiatives to increase productivity and reduce costs. Receives general supervisory guidance.
Responsibilities:
* Performs moderate to complex evaluation, test, and assembly functions utilizing mechanical skills, hand and power tools, test equipment, and inspection measurement equipment.
* Documents findings and work performed to ensures alignment with customer requirements and quality standards.
* Identifies potential non-conformance or deviations and alerts the appropriate support function.
* Interprets blueprints, engineering orders, assembly routes, test specifications, service bulletins, customer requirements, and quality directives.
* Actively participates in lean initiatives by identifying and providing suggestions on areas for improvement.
* Observes all safety rules, 5S practices and maintains a foreign object damage (FOD) free work area.
* Ensures all equipment is calibrated in accordance with calibration schedule.
* May assist in training less experienced team members.
* May perform other related responsibilities.
Requirements:
* Demonstrate strong mechanical aptitude
* Possess strong mechanical reasoning.
* Five or more years industry related experience in assembly/test in a manufacturing environment.
* Aerospace/Automotive mechanic or manufacturing experience is preferred.
* Demonstrate product and process knowledge by applying it to newly learned techniques.
* Team oriented with strong communication skills and willingness to support cross functional operations.
* Strong attention to detail with focus on workmanship, inspection readiness, and product quality.
* Experience working in a fast-paced production or repair environment with changing priorities.
* Physical demands to lift up to 50 lbs
* Perform basic mathematical calculations, as well as demonstrate effective verbal, written, and basic computer skills Ability to effectively demonstrate team member competencies and participate in goal setting, performance feedback, and self‐development activities.
