SENIOR PRODUCTION MANAGER
Position Summary
The Sr. Production Manager is responsible for the delivery of products through their assigned area and is a champion of the site-wide Operations Strategy. They will partner with all functions within the business to develop, drive, and implement improvements to the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities- Accountable for the safety of the team by enforcing established safety and health policies and procedures, promoting employee safety and wellbeing, preventing accidents, and working to improve TRIR year over year.
- Direct and manage daily manufacturing activities.
- Coordinate and lead plant activities through planning with departmental managers to meet manufacturing objectives in a timely and cost-effective manner.
- Create daily production schedules and determine manpower needs to meet throughput demands.
- Establish and monitor measurements for plant performance, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Utilize Lean Manufacturing tools across the organization.
- Provide leadership and training on CIRCOR Operating System (COS) tools to achieve company goals.
- Support Manufacturing Excellence / Lean Conversion Roadmap and promote an Operator-Led Process Control environment.
- Communicate effectively with associates through toolbox meetings, employee meetings, round tables, and one-on-one discussions.
- Provide leadership for day-to-day operation of the facility including Machine Shop, Welders, and Assemblers.
- Coordinate hiring and training of operations personnel.
- Remove production constraints; allocate resources and direct production staff to meet goals.
- Encourage continuous improvement and remove waste to improve efficiency and productivity.
- Support R&D and product management as needed to develop new product strategies.
- Maintain a superior 6S program with timely communication.
- Work with quality personnel to review product consistency and monitor scrap rates for improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrate exceptional people skills.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Experience with safety systems and enforcing safety rules and policies.
- Strong computer skills and ability to analyze data using Microsoft Office products.
- Experience with continuous improvement/lean tools (e.g., Six Sigma, 5S, Lean Manufacturing) to drive improvement.
- Strong leadership, team-building, and coaching skills.
- Ability to motivate, assess, and develop employee skills.
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, maintenance, and engineering principles.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to balance production and maintenance needs.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening ability.
- Adaptable and flexible; strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Ability to work with teams and lead decision-making processes in a collaborative environment.
- Highly motivated, results-oriented, driven; strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Management, Operations, or related field (5 years of manufacturing leadership experience considered in lieu of a degree).
- MBA preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive leadership/management experience in a manufacturing facility.
