This opportunity resides with Uncrewed Systems (UxS), a business group within HII’s Mission Technologies division. Uncrewed Systems comprises unmanned underwater vehicles (UUVs), unmanned surface vehicles (USVs) and autonomy software.

HII Unmanned Systems is seeking an experienced Technician to manufacture and test various levels of electro‑mechanical assemblies aligned to autonomous vehicles and auxiliary equipment per drawing specifications.
Responsibilities- Perform integration, assembly, and test of new systems vehicles and auxiliary equipment from work instructions and assembly drawings.
- Perform testing and troubleshooting with engineering and software development to identify and correct system‑level problems with vehicles and auxiliary equipment.
- Read and understand diagnostic data and technical schematics.
- Set up and use test equipment including oscilloscopes, signal generators, and other input/output electronic test equipment.
- Use general computer operation skills.
- Perform basic soldering.
- TRoubleshoot PWBA’s, assemblies, and modules, including complex analog and digital circuits to the component level.
- Recommend procedure improvements and assist Manufacturing Engineering in implementing new procedures.
- Produce a sufficient quantity of working PWBA’s, assemblies, or modules within prescribed procedures to support the Master Production Schedule.
- Discuss technical problems encountered while troubleshooting or testing with Engineering.
- Associate’s Degree or other 2‑year technical degree in a related discipline and 3 years of related experience, or High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government clearance.
Most work is performed aboard ships or in industrial conditions. Work may be conducted in a shop, shipboard, warehouse or industrial environment and may expose the employee to fumes and irritants including welding/burning fumes, paints, oils, greases and various cleaning solutions and solvents, noise, high heat and humidity hazards while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE).
