Position Summary
The Operations Scheduler is responsible for supporting manufacturing operations through maintenance-focused scheduling activities. This role primarily coordinates, tracks, and follows up on maintenance work with Site Engineering and Manufacturing. The Operations Scheduler serves as the primary operational interface to ensure maintenance activities are visible, coordinated, and aligned with manufacturing operations and supports day‑to‑day manufacturing scheduling changes as needed.
Key Responsibilities- Incorporate planned and unplanned maintenance activities into the manufacturing schedule.
- Coordinate closely with Site Engineering and Manufacturing to monitor maintenance execution, track status, and communicate schedule impacts.
- Submit and manage service requests for facilities, equipment, and project work, including extensions to support manufacturing operations.
- Coordinate and support vendor escorts for maintenance-related activities.
- Proactively identify near‑term scheduling conflicts or maintenance-related risks and escape them as appropriate.
- Prepare and maintain scheduling data, visualizations, and summaries for daily and weekly maintenance and execution coordination meetings.
- Manage SUF benchtop equipment service and maintenance contracts, including coordination with vendors and Site Engineering.
- Provide day‑to‑day support for manufacturing schedule adjustments, as directed by the Senior Scheduler.
- Assist with review and maintenance of the process order (PO) tracker.
- Attend relevant cross‑functional governance meetings and provide updates on maintenance activities, schedule impacts, and execution status as required.
- Serve as a backup to the Senior Scheduler as needed.
- Support continuous improvement activities related to maintenance integration and execution accuracy.
- Knowledge of science generally attained through studies resulting in a B.S. in science or equivalent, and +2 years of work experience or no B.S. in science or equivalent +4 years of experience.
- Work experience in a regulated manufacturing environment desired.
- Working knowledge of maintenance planning/scheduling concepts (PMs, work orders, priorities, backlog management) and how maintenance activities impact manufacturing operations.
- Ability to build and maintain integrated schedules and trackers; strong attention to detail and follow‑through on status updates and closeout.
- Proficiency with common scheduling and reporting tools (e.g., MS Excel) and ability to create clear visualizations and summaries for daily/weekly coordination meetings.
- Strong communication and coordination skills to interface effectively with Site Engineering, Manufacturing, vendors, and cross‑functional stakeholders; able to escalate risks and conflicts appropriately.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, including last‑minute schedule changes, while maintaining compliance with site procedures.
- Basic understanding of GMP manufacturing environments and controlled documentation practices (as applicable to the site).
- Problem‑solving and continuous improvement mindset; able to identify recurring scheduling issues and propose improvements to planning and execution accuracy.
Devens - MA - US: $99,280 - $120,304. The starting compensation range listed above is for a full‑time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.
