As a CNC Operator at Vulcan Forms in Devens, MA, you will operate CNC Lathe and/or Mill Machines to support manufacturing based on skillset and shop demand. The CNC Machinist position is shift based
- Weekday Night Shift (Standard
- Mon-Wed & Every other Thursday 6pm - 6am).
Key Responsibilities
- Ability to operate a CNC lathe (including work holding, kitting of tools, touching off of tools/establishing offsets, reading of manufacturing drawings, and first article inspection) on FANUC, DMG MORI, Okuma, and controls.
- Ability to operate a CNC 3 or 4 Mill (including work holding, kitting of tools, touching off of tools/establishing offsets, reading manufacturing drawings, and first article) on Fanuc, DMG MORI, and Okuma
- Experience with utilizing a pre-setter offline for tool offsets is a plus.
- Experience with quick-change tooling is a plus.
- Operate and set up on the machines within the department.
- In addition to running machines, the Machinist will periodically inspect parts during production to monitor for consistent dimensional and visual quality.
- Responsible for continuously monitoring equipment and tooling. In the event of a breakdown or other event that would disrupt the process.
- Follow the instructions on the Process sheet, Drawings, and/or Programs.
- Support training of more junior team members on all aspects of machining.
- Helps others identify issues and troubleshoot their work.
- Interface/communicate with Quality, Engineering, and other team members.
- Maintains the work area and equipment clean and orderly and follows prescribed safety regulations.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience with 3 and 4 CNC Milling Centers, 2-axis and multi axis, live tooling lathes, experience with the controls listed in the Key Responsibilities section above.
- Ability to read Blueprints and have a good understanding of GD&T
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Adhere to and enforce the company's health & safety policies and procedures
- Adhere to and enforce the company's quality policies and procedures
- Good hand/eye coordination
Preferred
- Graduate of Advanced Machine Technology Course.
- Knowledge of 5S/6S.

The hourly pay range for this position is:
Level II $24–$33/hour
Level III $28-$38/hour
with differential pay of 10% for weekday nights
