The Associate Extrusion Operator is responsible to set up, clean, and operate an extruder and a variety of related equipment that are part of a plastic extrusion production line. They carefully follow safety and cleaning protocols, and ensure that product is made accurately, according to specifications, avoiding waste of time and resources. This is an entry-level position that performs duties with some oversight, direction and assistance, particularly when situations depart from the norm.

What’s the work schedule?
  • 1st Shift
    - Monday through Friday 6:00AM-2:00PM
  • 40 hours per week plus overtime as needed
  • Pay: $20.00 per hour
What’s the Job?
  • Carefully follow safety and cleaning protocols, and ensure that product is made accurately, according to specifications, avoiding waste of time and resources.
  • Able to understand and follow written work instructions to extrude material per specifications meeting production targets and quality requirements.
  • Complete required paperwork and ensures process consistency.
  • Keep work area organized and safe at all times.
  • Comply with all EHS requirements.
  • Ability to frequently: lift or move up to 50 pounds; bend and scoop from drums and gaylords; and roll drums up to 300 pounds, stand for entire shift.
  • Additional duties as assigned, including housekeeping and assisting in other areas.
You and your experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
  • Reliability in attendance is a must and occasional overtime is required

Requirements
  • Education and/or

    Experience:

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 6 months' experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language

    Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write basic, routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak team members and supervisors.
  • Mathematical

    Skills:

    Basic arithmetic skills in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute weight, volume, ratios, percentage, and unit conversion.
  • Reasoning

    Skills:

    Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer

    Skills:

    Basic keyboarding, computer navigation, and data entry skills; ability to use training (LMS) and safety compliance software/mobile apps and email.
  • Physical Demands:
    The employee is constantly required to hear in work environments up to 80-100< dB; stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, grasp and/or feel. They are frequently required to speak; reach with hands and arms, including overhead; push and pull up to < 300 lbs. and over short distances; climb or balance; bend and lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.
