Join Orion Castings, Cambridge Division (North Billerica) as a Precision Assembly Technician Picture your day starting at 6:00 AM in our 300,000-square-foot Cambridge Division. You review clear work instructions, gather your tools, and set up your station. With a microscope at the ready, you assemble high-precision die cast components that support aerospace, medical device, robotics, and defense programs. You collaborate with engineers to refine assembly methods, document every step with care, and finish the day in a spotless, safety-first workspace—wrapping by 4:30 PM with three-day weekends most weeks.
What You’ll Do Interpret written and verbal instructions, including assembly drawings and procedures.
Perform microscope-assisted assembly for select operations requiring fine detail.
Complete accurate manufacturing and production records.
Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe workstation and follow plant safety practices.
Operate basic hand and power tools; use light-duty shop equipment (drill press, saws, grinders).Apply an understanding of product flow to keep work moving efficiently.
Partner with engineers to develop and improve assembly methods; help troubleshoot assembly challenges.
Contribute to other related tasks as needed.
What You Bring Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Team-first mindset with professional, courteous communication.
Mechanical aptitude and comfort with tools and fixtures.
Experience using basic test equipment to run simple functional checks (a plus).Familiarity with light-duty machines such as a drill press, saws, and grinders.
Compensation & Schedule Pay: $17.00 – $25.00 per hour
