The Packaging Technician reports to the Manager of Production. The ultimate objective of the Packaging Technician is to package products both by hand and utilizing automated operating equipment line efficiently and compliantly, while maintaining a safe production and sanitary work environment. The Packaging Technician assists the Director of Production with daily tasks, as needed, to maintain a productive work environment. The Packaging Technician is a full-time position and may be required to work overtime.
EssentialDuties And Tasks
- Package flower products accurately and effectively.
- Adhere to direction with ensuring that production goals are met on a daily basis.
- Using automated operating equipment to complete tasks.
- Overseeing the quality of products produced daily.
- Full understanding of the quality standards at HHG
- Report quality issues to management.
- Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment.
- When required, accurately produce quality acceptable labels for packages.
- Maintain a reliable attendance record.
- Communicate effectively between the Packaging, Kitchen, and other HHG departments.
- Assisting with gathering of daily production materials and inventory.
- Boxing/case packaging of packaged units.
- Assisting with break coverages.
- Understanding of all automated operating equipment required.
- Strict adherence to safety procedures and company policies.
- Have read and understand all S.O.P's pertaining to job duties.
- 1+ year of relevant work experience.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Possess a can-do attitude, resourceful, action oriented, reliable, and a team player.
- Excellent communications skills as applied to internal teams
- Motivated with flexibility and adaptability.
- Possess a sense of urgency, problem-solving, and organizational skills with great attention to detail.
- Over 21 with ability to obtain an MA agent registration card;
- Ability to meet minimum physical requirements to work in a production and retail environment.

Packaging Sun crafted products correctly, efficiently, and within compliance and sanitary standards according to HHG and the CCC. Production batches meet quality standards for edibles and packaging; and any issues are reported to a supervisor or management. Maintains a sanitary and organized workplace. Maintains a clean and organized work space. Assists in keeping the work areas and packaging room(s) clean and free of clutter.
All equipment and packaging area(s) and work areas are left in a clean and organized fashion. Maintaining compliance with the CCC as well as all HHG regulations. Compliance infractions are always monitored and mitigated, and management is notified. Maintain accuracy/efficiency in the product creation and producing labels on all items being made ready for sale and/or packaged. All products are labeled correctly (test results, package dates, expiration dates).
Understand the importance of attendance / reliability. Observes prescribed work break/meal periods and has an acceptable overall attendance record. Showcases accurate use of time clocks as well as rectifying mistakes through the proper communication channels. Cooperation / Commitment on a daily basis. Willingness to cooperate, work and communicate with coworkers, supervisors, subordinates and/or outside contacts. The employee accepts and responds to change in a positive manner, as well as accepts job assignments and additional duties willingly and takes responsibility for own performance and job assignments.
Communication is key in the workplace to report or avoid any problems. As well as communicating before starting any tasks and/or responsibilities. Demonstrates the ability to be an effective communicator. Shares important issues in a timely fashion and communicates through the proper channels. Errors in process and procedure are called to the attention of the immediate manager. All packagers must follow proper employee conduct and character guidelines.
Follows company policies, procedures and work conduct rules set by the Production Director & employee handbook. All packagers must package a minimum of 350 units per shift. Failure to meet daily goals 3x in a month will result in a warning and/or disciplinary action.
