Position Summary

Reporting to the Director of Advancement Services (Director), the Advancement Services Coordinator (Coordinator) is responsible for the timely processing and receipting of gifts, distribution of donor reports, and maintenance of accurate constituent records in Raiser's Edge (RE).

Key Responsibilities

* Serves as the first point of contact about how to make gifts to the seminary. Answer calls and emails received through Advancement Services telephone line and email account. Coordinates with Director, colleagues across the Department of Advancement and entire seminary to answer questions and resolve concerns within 48 hours.

* Assists the Director in coordinating the processing of all gifts and grants received by the seminary. This includes handling of cash, checks, credit card transactions, stocks and securities, and gifts-in-kind that are received in person or by mail, online, or bank or brokerage transfer.

* Maintains proper documentation, accurate entry and quality control of data into Raiser's Edge, and the seminary's Gift Acceptance Policy is adhered to for each gift or grant. Seek to process all gifts and grants within 48 hours of receipt.

* Manages distribution of donor end-of-year gift statements. Ensures accuracy of all statements prior to distribution.

* Manages distribution of reports to key donors and foundations. Learns required data and deadlines for each report from respective development officer or grants program director. Provides data and report templates to respective development officer or grants program director for their timely reporting to their key donors and foundations.

* Manages donor and alumni records in Raiser's Edge, updating contact information, relationships, development officer assignments, and adding new records as needed.

* Other duties as assigned.

Basic research skills and the ability to leverage technology is required. Required competency with Microsoft Office, prioritizing Word and Excel. The ability to use web conferencing software (e.g., Zoom) preferred.

* Clear understanding of the mission of the Seminary and willingness to abide by the Statement of Faith and Community Life Statement of GCTS.

Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree preferred.

* 1-2 years experience with financial data entry and customer relationship management system experience is required; preference for proficiency with Raiser's Edge.

* Familiarity with and experience working within the context of Christian higher education, preferably in graduate theological education.
