Boys & Girls Club of Chicopee – Family & Community Engagement Coordinator

Full‑time position. Competitive salary $21.00‑$27.50/hour, benefits including health, dental, vision, 403(b) with 5% match, 15 paid holidays, paid vacation, and other perks.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement and oversee initiatives that strengthen relationships between the Club, members, families, and the community. Serve as primary liaison to volunteers, community partners, schools, and public; foster connections that increase family engagement and volunteer involvement and promote the mission through outreach, events, and communications.

Develop and maintain partnerships with local schools, businesses, civic organizations, and community agencies; coordinate volunteer recruitment, orientation, scheduling, and recognition.

Manage the Club’s social media presence, oversee facility rentals, support marketing and development efforts, and assist with organization-wide events and fundraising initiatives.

Lead the “Club on Wheels” mobile program: operate and drive the vehicle, plan and facilitate activities, oversee day-to-day operations, ensure equipment and supplies readiness, and schedule outreach opportunities.

Maintain safety of members and staff, identify hazards, attend regular training, and continually improve program quality.

Qualifications
  • Associate’s degree required or minimum of three (3) years equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a nonprofit organization.
  • Experience working with youth organizations preferred.
  • Computer literacy (Microsoft Office Suite, social media platforms).
  • Excellent leadership, organization, interpersonal, and communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to deal with the general public.
  • Maintain a high energy level and handle multi-faceted projects.
  • Must be deemed suitable after initial and subsequent background record checks.
  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record meeting organization’s insurance and vehicle operation requirements.
  • Willingness to comply with company policy regarding background checks.
Work Schedule

Up to 35 hours per week, 7‑hour workdays with a 30‑minute unpaid meal break. Hours and days are flexible; evenings, weekends, and adjustments to meet organizational priorities and community needs may be required.

The position requires working evenings and weekends to support family engagement activities, community events, volunteer initiatives, fundraising, rentals, and other programs.
