DEFINITION/PRIMARY FUNCTIONSThe staff RN is a registered, professional nurse who is responsible for providing individualized nursing care for a specific group of patients. The staff RN has knowledge of and utilizes appropriate patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of the patient population served. The nurse coordinates care in collaboration with the patient, family, nurses, peers, physicians and allied health care providers.
Assumes responsibility for the outcome of nursing care delivered.
Minimum qualifications are required unless stated otherwise.
ExperienceMinimum 2 years experience in ED preferred.
Education and Training- Associate's degree in nursing required, BSN preferred.
- RN License
- Currently licensed as an RN in Massachusetts.
- Ability to function independently under general guidance of the Director and follows the guidelines and protocols and/or policies and protocols specific to each unit. Duties require independent action and judgment. Utilizes time management, communication, planning, delegating, and problem solving in providing care. Must possess and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Must maintain emotional stability in emergency settings.
- PALS
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support required within one year of hire. - CPR.
- ACLS required within three months of hire.
- IV Qualifications required within six months of hire.
- ENPC, TNCC, and CEN all preferred.
The minimum and maximum of the hourly pay range for this position is shown above. Actual rates of pay may vary based on a range of factors including but not limited to experience and qualifications.
