Veterinary Surgery Liaison

At Cape Cod Veterinary Specialists, we're passionate about what we do and looking for like-minded individuals to join our AAHA-accredited surgery team in Buzzards Bay, MA. As a member of our team, you'll have the chance to utilize your people skills while continuing to learn and grow your expertise.
About This Role
Liaisons are essential in building and supporting a close working relationship between pet owners, referring veterinarians, and our surgery team. Our goal is to provide gold-standard medical care to patients, their families, and their primary care veterinarians by facilitating clinical care, directly communicating with everyone involved in the patient's medical care decisions, and minimizing the wait time to connect with our surgery team.
Responsibilities and Functions
* Promote patient flow to limit client wait times.
* Communicate directly with referring doctors and hospitals.
* Communicate directly with the pet owners.
* Schedule and confirm appointments with the surgery team.
* Discharge patients according to the surgeon's instructions.
* Perform medical record entry.
* Check-in and check-out surgery patients.
* Process payments.
Schedule and Benefits Include (but are not limited to)
* This is a part-time position. Schedules include a holiday shift rotation.
* The initial training schedule may differ.
* Salary starts at $22/hr and ranges to $32/hr, commensurate with experience
* Paid PTO and holidays
* Uniform allowance
* Veterinary Social Worker on site for employees and clients
* Company Sponsored EAP
Required Qualifications
* 2+ years experience in the veterinary hospital as a technician, liaison, or CSR
* Equivalent experience may be considered.
* Sufficient computer experience and the ability to learn various veterinary software programs
* Basic math skills to determine deposits and process payments
* Ability to balance and prioritize multiple tasks appropriately
* Excellent clear communication skills
* Must be professional, pleasant, and engaged.
* Must be attentive and demonstrate a high level of respect to referring veterinarians, clients, and co-workers
Preferred Qualifications
* Knowledge of Ezy Vet and Smart Flow
* Experience and knowledge of Care Credit
* Willingness to learn veterinary assisting skills
