The MSPCA‑Angell is looking for an experienced manager at our Cape location in Centerville (40 hours/week, weekends required).

Salary: $65,000–$75,000
, depending on experience. Relocation assistance available for out of state applicants.

Every day, thousands of animals in Massachusetts rely on the MSPCA for safety and care. As our Adoption Center Manager, you’ll help lead our Cape Adoption Center by supporting staff, inspiring volunteers, connecting with the community, and ensuring every animal receives the compassion and care they deserve.

You’ll work closely with our Director of Operations to:

• Guide and support an incredible team of staff and volunteers
• Work alongside the behavior and medical teams with a focus on quality of life and decreased length of stay for animals at the adoption center.
• Create positive, respectful experiences for adopters, surrenderers, and visitors
• Lead group discussions, trainings, scheduling, performance development, and team culture
• Lead daily adoption center shelter operations, including the intake, care, adoption, and euthanasia of animals.
• In conjunction with the volunteer and foster care coordinator, work to foster a positive and supportive culture aimed at the inclusion, development and integration of volunteers into our collective goal
• Provide euthanasia counseling while upholding the highest standard of respectful, compassionate care
• Model the kindness and professionalism that define the MSPCA

• 2 years of management or supervisory experience (non‑profit preferred)
• 2 years of experience working in animal sheltering, veterinary services, or comparable social services fields
• A compassionate, people‑centered leader who believes deeply in helping animals and their families
• Excellent communication skills and strong attention to detail
• A commitment to maintaining the positive, supportive culture we’ve built
• Spanish proficiency is a plus!

The MSPCA is the largest animal welfare organization in New England—caring for and placing over 12,000 animals annually across our four adoption centers and caring for over 14,000 animals in our community clinics. For our adoption centers, we aim to help the greatest number of animals by upholding an open adoption philosophy and moving pets through the shelter effectively while maintaining a commitment to socially conscious sheltering.

For our community clinics we work to provide access to low cost veterinary care that helps keep families together with their pets.

Must be able to drive the Shelter vehicle and possess valid MA driver’s license and a clean driving record.
