Maintenance Groundskeeper

The Maintenance Groundskeeper is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of outdoor grounds and associated facilities. This role involves landscaping, lawn care, seasonal cleanup, minor repairs, snow plowing, snow removal, and the operation of groundskeeping equipment to ensure all exterior areas are clean, well‑kept, and visually appealing.

• Mow, edge, trim, and fertilize lawns and landscaped areas.
• Plant, prune, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and plants.
• Maintain walkways, parking areas, fences, and outdoor structures.
• Remove debris, leaves, snow, and ice as required by season.
• Execute snow removal and plowing.
• Prepare athletic fields and outdoor areas for school events, sports, and ceremonies.
• Operate and maintain groundskeeping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and snow removal equipment.
• Perform basic maintenance and minor repairs on tools, equipment, and facilities.
• Identify and report safety hazards, damaged equipment, or maintenance concerns.
• Assist with setup and cleanup for outdoor events when needed.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance and facilities staff.

• Legal authority to work in the United States.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous groundskeeping, landscaping, or maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of landscaping techniques and equipment operation.
• Ability to safely handle tools, chemicals, and machinery.
• Valid driver’s license may be required.
• Ability to work independently and follow instructions.
• Ability to pass required background checks for employment in a boarding school environment.
• CPR/AED/Standard First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
