The FSQA Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in West Boylston, MA, responsible for overseeing food safety and quality assurance programs across production operations. This role develops, implements, and maintains FSQA policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer specifications, and internal standards. The FSQA Manager leads audits, inspections, and verification activities, monitors process controls and product testing, and drives corrective actions and continuous improvement.
This position collaborates closely with production, maintenance, procurement, and R&D to support new product launches, staff training, and root cause analysis for quality or safety issues. The FSQA Manager also prepares reports, communicates performance metrics, and supports a strong culture of food safety and quality throughout the facility.
- Demonstrated expertise in food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance (e.g., USDA, FDA, HACCP, GMPs).
- Ability to manage and improve FSQA systems, documentation, and audit readiness (internal, third-party, and customer audits).
- Experience with risk assessment, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action in manufacturing environments.
- Strong skills in data analysis, process monitoring, and use of quality metrics to drive performance and continuous improvement.
- Effective leadership and team-building skills, including training and coaching cross-functional staff on FSQA practices.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills for reporting, procedure writing, and interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Prior FSQA or quality management experience in meat, poultry, or ready-to-eat food manufacturing strongly preferred.
- Professional certifications such as HACCP, PCQI, SQF, BRCGS, or similar credentials are a plus.
