Inspection Specialist III

The Panther Group is hiring an experienced Inspection Specialist III for a medical device manufacturing company. This role is responsible for in-process, final, receiving, and electro-mechanical inspections and ensuring products meet drawings, specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform in-process, final, receiving, source, electro-mechanical, and cable/harness inspections.
• Inspect components, subassemblies, final assemblies, PCBs, wires, cables, and finished medical devices.
• Perform dimensional and visual inspections using microscopes, calipers, micrometers, torque tools, digital multimeters, and other precision equipment.
• Interpret engineering drawings, bills of materials, work instructions, inspection criteria, and GD&T requirements.
• Inspect PCBA assemblies to IPC-A-610 standards and wires/cables to IPC-A-620 standards.
• Identify, document, and properly control non-conforming materials.
• Complete inspection documentation and verify work-order packages are accurate and complete.
• Maintain product and device traceability.
• Perform receiving inspection in accordance with established inspection criteria and customer specifications.
• Support customer co-builds and communicate inspection requirements to other quality team members.
• Mentor and train Inspection Specialists I and II.
• Follow the Quality Management System, Good Documentation Practices, cGMP requirements, and ISO 13485 standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in medical device manufacturing or inspection.
• 10+ years of inspection experience preferred.
• Certified Quality Inspector certification required.
• Experience with precision measurement and inspection equipment.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with IPC-A-610 and IPC-A-620 standards preferred.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and databases.
• Strong mechanical aptitude, mathematical skills, attention to detail, and communication skills.
• Ability to read and understand detailed manufacturing procedures and documentation in English.
• Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

Pay: $24–$30 per hour W2 Depending on Experience
